A Jack Covert Selection

VELOCITY has been chosen as a featured book in the “Jack Covert Selects” column at 800-CEO-READ, the online retailer that specializes in business books and other media. The venerable Mr. Covert is founder and president of that company, and each month a handful of business titles are picked for the “Selects” column. Needless to say, this is quite an honor.

Jack, by the way, was one of the first booksellers to identify The Goal as a significant book. He and Todd Sattersten included The Goal in their own 2009 compendium, The 100 Best Business Books of All Time. If you’re serious about management and the ideas that can launch a career and an organization toward greatness, you might want to check out The 100 Best. It’s organized in twelve categories with headings such as “Entrepreneurship,” “Big Ideas,” “Biographies,” and of course, “Management.” Each category has the significant books written about that topic, and each book has a brief write-up explaining what it’s about and why it’s significant. Then, at the conclusion of each book’s description, there is a paragraph headed “Where To Next?” that directs you to other, related books that might be of interest. This makes for very interesting browsing.

Right now, Amazon.com has the best single-copy price on VELOCITY that I’m aware of. But if you’re going to buy in quantity, my suggestion is that you at least get a quote from 800-CEO-READ. They are very competitive on larger orders.
